Toulouse was attacked by vikings.A viking fleet of 70-80 ships roamed the Garonne river area and attacked Toulouse then sailed to Spain and attacked the Asturians.
Spain Gijón, on the coast of Asturias, was the first place they made landfall and they later attacked Muslim provinces in Spain. Yelling and looting the raider pillaged the local area.
31 July Vikings were defeated by the christian Asturians in the province of Galicia near Oviedo, they survivors moved on to attack La Coruna, but was defeated and lost 60-70 ships.
20th August Lisbon was sacked for 3 days, but the Governor of Lisbon escaped and cried for help.
3rd October Outside of Seville Vikings camped and Sevilla was sacked.
Cadiz, Medina, Sidonia, Niebla, Beja and Algarve was also plundered.
11 November Battle of Taylata
The emir assembled an army from all over Spain and south of Seville viking axes and Arab sword battled for ferociously. The Arabs called the Northmen "Madjus", it began with small skirmishes and went into a fierce hand to hand combat, but the Vikings were defeated by Arab catapults and greek fire. Some of the Vikings fled, but some were captured and then converted to Islam and settled as cheese makers.
This was written in Annales Bertiniani, one of whose authors was the Spanish Prudencio, the Bishop of Troyes and also written in the Crónica Albedense.
King Raedwulf of Northumbria was killed by vikings.
